In a remarkable, courageous book, How To Be An Anti-Racist, Author Ibram Kendi pushes those of us who believe we are not racists to become antiracists, and eradicate such ideas wherever we encounter them. At first what may seem like semantics, he offers a big "ah ha" moment when he defines ideas, actions, and policies as is either racist – that is, contributing to a history that regards and treats different races as inherently unequal – or it is antiracist, because it is trying to dismantle that history.
We thought we were so cutting edge when we stumbled upon Taryn Toomey's The Class at-home workout, but it's been a thing for several years now. We were given a Tarot Card deck for the holidays and have been starting our morning out with a simple one-card reading. We love this ritual of a private inquiry into something we have been pondering and have been having fun with the interpretation. We are keeping a Tarot journal with notes on the experience so we can track how accurate the cards are and well...it's eerie accurate. If for nothing else, our morning reading reminds us that everything is unfolding exactly the way it's intended to.
